London, We Have Arrived!

Its currently 5:30 in the morning in London and my roommate and I have been wide-eyed and awake since 4:00. The glories of traveling and adjusting to the time change are still upon us, however we are experiencing it in one of the most culturally diverse and bustling cities in the world! This makes everything worth while: the exhaustion and jet lag have all led up to the moments that we have spent here in the wonderous city of London.

We've only been here for a day and a half, however our minds are overwhelmed with information and "saturated with beauty" as Steve, our Ceramics professor, would say. To see him giddy as a child in a candy store with eyes as big as plates equates to how magical our first days have been. Even if you aren't interested in ceramics, his wonder and enthusiasm are undeniably infectious. We visited the Victoria and Albert Museum and were instantly enveloped in the Ceramics exhibit and that's where Steve's eyes truly began to sparkle. After trying absorb as much as we could amongst the pottery and clay, we were let loose in the rest of the museum to set out and wander for the following 5 hours. Even now, everything hasn't been seen and fully experienced so another trip has already been planned to the V & A.

This is probably the reason Kelly and I are up now: we were drunk on the rich history and beauty of clay and are eagerly awaiting more. It's easily comparable to the excitement of a young bright-eyed child on Christmas morning as we are "patiently" waiting in suspense for the morning sun to rise to unwrap all of our dreams.

Hope everyone in Washington is having a magical day.

From London with love;

Alliy
